I was asked this question about introducing teachers to CODAP the other day on email and thought the response might be useful to others on this forum:
Probably the best way to achieve your goals would be to start by introducing folks to the CODAP website at:
https://codap.concord.org
Then to just launch the software one can use this link: https://codap.concord.org/app/
We plan to add many more example documents here and potentially on a new website where they would be more efficiently browsable. However, for now there are just these examples that are easily available.
There is a menu just to the left of the document name that will allow you to create new documents, save documents to google drive or our Concord Cloud, share views of documents, or download them to your local machine.
One pattern a teacher might use if working with their own data set would be to:
- Open CODAP and start a new document.
- Drag in a CSV file (comma separated data in a text file), putting it on the CODAP canvas.
- Then set up the document in the way students should see it, and save it.
- Then Share it and provide the share link to students who could then save their own copies of the document.
If saving to Google Drive or downloading locally is not a good option, then people can sign up for a free account at https://learn.concord.org so they can save to the Concord Cloud.
