Organizing spinners hierarchically

Hi,

I want to simulate conditional probability through a spinner.

for example,

1. Out of every 100 people that go to the doctor and get a rapid strep test,

75 people actually have strep throat then confirmed by a throat culture.

2. The rapid strep test has a sensitivity of 95%.

3. The rapid strep test has a specificity of 98%.

 

In order to express the above situation with a spinner,

Spinners should be organized hierarchically.

 

Is it possible to hierarchically organize spinners in codap like in the attached image?

Hello,

I have some bad news and some good news.

• The bad news is that the current version of the Sampler cannot produce such a simulation.

Actually there are two pieces of good news.

• First, the ESTEEM II project out of NCSU will be improving the CODAP Sampler to provide functionality much closer to TinkerPlot’s and which will therefore be able to allow users to construct this simulation.
• Second, Tim Erickson is working on a CODAP plugin that allows you to program simulations using Blockly and output the results as data to CODAP. You can try out the current version, named Simmer, at codap.xyz near the very bottom of that site. If you try it, how about giving Tim and the rest of us some feedback about your experience here in this thread?
