Using map plugin

How can I use map of different geographical regions for instance israel and the mediterranean Sea? Would it have Hebrew support? In that regard, can I add tto this map layers such as indagerd species?

Hello Itai,

There are several answers to your question about displaying maps in CODAP.

1. You may already know that CODAP knows about country boundaries. In this document you will see that I’ve created a small dataset list a few countries close to Israel. The boundary for each is computed with a formula, “lookupBoundary(country_boundaries,Country)”. You can add countries to the dataset and they will appear in the map (though may need to rescale in order to see them).
2. You can add points to CODAP maps using a dataset that has “latitude” and “longitude” attributes. (Sorry, but the names of the attributes are only recognized in English.) For example, the Four Seals example document has points for locations of elephant seals over time.
3. Another way to add new geographic information to CODAP is to find a “geojson” file with the information you want and simply drag the file into CODAP’s browser window. If you can find the appropriate geojson file you may be able to show the layers you are interested in, possibly even marked up in Hebrew.

For latitude and longitude attributes, they must be named latitude and longitude (or lat, lon, or long) for the map to display properly.
